Join Us September 20 for the Next Advocacy Leaders Network Workshop

The third of four sessions offered as part of the Advocacy Leaders Network, a workshop series tailored to senior advocacy, government affairs, and public relations professionals. This session, "Boosting Key Contact Programs: Turning Players into Coaches," will look beyond the traditional engagement tactics and will focus on new strategies for managing successful key contact programs.This series is part of CMF’s Partnership for a More Perfect Union, which seeks to enhance communications, understanding, and the relationship between citizens and Congress.

Program Details

These days, it’s essential for organizations to utilize a key contact program, composed of individuals who have relationships with members of Congress or have demonstrated experience undertaking valuable advocacy-related activities. However, simply having this program is not enough. We must constantly keep these key contacts engaged while being on the look-out for the next crop of influential supporters.

The Advocacy Leaders Network event will look beyond the traditional engagement tactics and will focus on new strategies for managing successful key contacts programs. We will discuss a coaching model where our key contacts become mentors and coaches for future high level advocates. We will:

  • hear from speakers with successful key contacts programs in their organzations;
  • review some of the leading ‘key contact training programs’ to learn from their successes;
  • and we will evaluate the role that social media and technology play in managing ongoing engagement.
