Upcoming Event: Managing Headaches in Freshman Offices

Program Overview

Opening an office for a newly elected Member of Congress is awash with clichés – you're drinking from a fire hose, or building the plane while flying it. By now, your office has probably experienced some classic problems, such as delays in getting district office operations up and running, a scheduling SNAFU, or a press event that didn't go as well as you hoped. Maybe even some issues (read: arguments) between DC and District staff. If you're in this position, it's useful to know that you're not alone! Come to this training for a great opportunity to interact with your colleagues in other Freshman offices, and to hear from veteran Chiefs and management experts from CMF.

Participants will:

  • Problem-solve challenges with peers
  • Share experiences in opening a New Member office
  • Make strong connections with colleagues to better achieve your boss' goals
  • Review potential solutions to challenges you may be experiencing
